Become equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for engineering and project management in infrastructure, and build interdisciplinary skills to work with those in all areas of the construction industry.
What You'll Learn
Our students will develop the technical knowledge of construction materials needed for geotechnical and structural engineering; the practical skills of construction methods and implementing the construction design; and the application of technology for managing, modeling, and documenting construction projects.
- Gain Hands-on Experience
Our students work closely with professors in our new Miller Insulation Construction Materials Lab to gain the tactile skills and experience that are invaluable in understanding the technical aspects of infrastructure design, engineering, and construction.
- Learn Interdisciplinary Skills
Construction engineering integrates the disciplines of construction management, architecture, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering. To succeed in this diverse field, we train our students to be effective communicators and have technical knowledge and awareness of each discipline, collaborating with engineering students in our other programs.

Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering
I teach civil and environmental engineering majors water and environmental engineering courses. Although I have been teaching these courses for over ten years, I always like to expand on the topics I cover, introduce new teaching mechanisms, and relate the material to other engineering courses and real-world applications. This keeps the lectures fresh and the classroom alive.
